This guide explains the sizes we sell (Adult, Youth, S/M, L/XL and one-size beanies), how the different crowns and closures feel, how to measure a head properly and how to choose when you are buying for someone else. We are adding exact measurement ranges for each size to this guide; until then, email us your head measurement and we will tell you which option suits it.</p>\n<h2>2. How to measure a head</h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Take a soft tape measure (the kind used for sewing). No tape? Use a piece of string or a phone charging cable and measure it against a ruler afterwards.</li>\n<li>Wrap it around the head where a cap sits: about one finger&#8217;s width above the eyebrows, just above the ears, and around the fullest part of the back of the head.</li>\n<li>Keep the tape level and snug, but not tight. You should be able to slide one finger underneath.</li>\n<li>Read the measurement where the tape meets. Measure twice; if the two readings differ, use the larger one.</li>\n<li>Write it down in inches or centimetres and keep it with you when you shop.</li>\n</ol>\n<p>Measuring someone else? Ask them to sit down and look straight ahead. Hair matters: thick or long hair worn under a cap adds a little, so measure the way they usually wear their hair.</p>\n<h2>3. Adjustable caps: how the closures work</h2>\n<h3>Snapback (truckers and some structured caps)</h3>\n<p>A plastic strip with pegs and holes at the back. It adjusts in small steps across a wide range, which is why truckers suit most adult heads. If it feels tight, move one peg looser before deciding the size is wrong.</p>\n<h3>Strap with slide (dad hats, corduroy, washed caps)</h3>\n<p>A fabric strap that slides through a metal buckle. It adjusts smoothly to any point in its range and tucks neatly away. Soft caps also stretch slightly with wear, so a snug fit on day one becomes a comfortable fit in a week.</p>\n<h3>Hook-and-loop (golf caps)</h3>\n<p>The two-part fastening that rips open and presses closed. It adjusts precisely and quickly, which golfers like when they take a cap off between holes. Make sure the two sides overlap fully so the closure holds in the wind.</p>\n<h3>Closed stretch back (fitted golf cap)</h3>\n<p>No closure at all: a stretch band inside the cap gives a snug, all-round fit. This is the one cap where measuring really matters, which is why it comes in two sizes, S/M and L/XL.</p>\n<h2>4. Crown height: how a cap sits</h2>\n<table class=\"policy-table\">\n<caption>Crown profiles and how they feel</caption>\n<thead>\n<tr>\n<th scope=\"col\">Profile</th>\n<th scope=\"col\">Where you find it</th>\n<th scope=\"col\">How it feels and looks</th>\n</tr>\n</thead>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>High crown</td>\n<td>Classic trucker hats</td>\n<td>Tall, upright front; sits higher on the head; shows bold designs well.</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Mid crown</td>\n<td>Structured six-panel caps, most golf caps</td>\n<td>Balanced; suits most face shapes; sits at a medium depth.</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Low / unstructured</td>\n<td>Dad hats, low-profile trucker, unstructured golf cap</td>\n<td>Follows the shape of the head; sits closer and lower; relaxed look.</td>\n</tr>\n</tbody>\n</table>\n<p>A cap can fit around the head and still feel wrong because of its height. If tall caps feel like they perch on top of your head, look at low-profile and unstructured styles. If low caps feel shallow and lift at the back, try a mid or high crown.</p>\n<h2>5. Choosing between Adult and Youth</h2>\n<p>Youth caps are made for children, with a smaller crown and a shorter brim. As a general guide, younger children and most primary-school kids are in Youth sizes, while many teenagers fit adult caps on a looser setting. Because youth caps are adjustable too, they cover a range of ages. Not sure? Measure the child&#8217;s head as described above and email us the measurement before you order.</p>\n<p>Matching sets are easy: the Bold Block Name Trucker and the Script Name Dad Hat come in both Adult and Youth at the same price, so parent and child can wear the same design.</p>\n<h2>6. Choosing between S/M and L/XL (fitted golf cap)</h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Measure your head as described in section 2.</li>\n<li>If you usually find standard adjustable caps fit on the tighter settings, S/M is likely right.</li>\n<li>If you usually wear adjustable caps on the loosest settings, or find many caps too small, choose L/XL.</li>\n<li>Between sizes, choose the larger one: a slightly loose fitted cap is more comfortable than a tight one, and the stretch band holds it in place.</li>\n<li>Still unsure? Choose an adjustable golf cap instead, or email us your measurement.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>7. Beanies</h2>\n<p>Our beanies are knitted to stretch, so one size covers most teens and adults. How they look depends on how you wear the cuff:</p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Cuffed beanie:</strong> fold the cuff once for a longer beanie that covers the ears; fold it twice for a shorter look.</li>\n<li><strong>Pom-pom beanie:</strong> chunkier knit, sits a little higher because of the pom.</li>\n<li><strong>Slouchy beanie:</strong> extra length falls loosely at the back; wear it pulled down at the front.</li>\n<li><strong>Fisherman beanie:</strong> deliberately short and sits above the ears.</li>\n<li><strong>Kids pom-pom beanie:</strong> youth size for children.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>8. Buying a cap as a gift without knowing the size</h2>\n<p>Choose an adjustable style: almost all of our truckers, dad hats and golf caps adjust across a wide range, and beanies stretch. Avoid the fitted golf cap unless you know the person&#8217;s size. If it does not fit, the recipient can exchange it within 60 days of delivery with a free return label, and the new cap is made with the same text.</p>\n<h2>9. Fit problems and quick fixes</h2>\n<table class=\"policy-table\">\n<caption>Common fit problems</caption>\n<thead>\n<tr>\n<th scope=\"col\">Problem</th>\n<th scope=\"col\">Try this first</th>\n<th scope=\"col\">If that does not help</th>\n</tr>\n</thead>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>Cap feels tight on the forehead</td>\n<td>Loosen the closure one step; soft caps also ease with wear.</td>\n<td>Exchange for an adult or larger size.</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Cap slides down over the eyes</td>\n<td>Tighten the closure one or two steps.</td>\n<td>Try a mid or high crown style, or Youth for a child.</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Cap perches on top of the head</td>\n<td>Loosen slightly and pull the back down.</td>\n<td>Try a low-profile or unstructured style.</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Fitted cap pinches</td>\n<td>Wear it for a short while; the band eases slightly.</td>\n<td>Exchange S/M for L/XL.</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Beanie rides up</td>\n<td>Unfold the cuff once for more length.</td>\n<td>Try the slouchy or cuffed beanie instead of the fisherman.</td>\n</tr>\n</tbody>\n</table>\n<h2>10. Exchanges for size</h2>\n<p>Size exchanges are part of our normal returns. Email <a href=\"mailto:support@capcraze.shop\">support@capcraze.shop</a> within 60 days of delivery with your order number and the size you need. We send a free return label, and once your return is on its way we make the new size with your original text. Full details are on the <a href=\"/returns-exchanges-policy/\">Returns &amp; Exchanges Policy</a>; if you would rather have your money back, see the <a href=\"/refund-policy/\">Refund Policy</a>.</p>\n<h2>11. Brims: curved, pre-curved and flat-ish</h2>\n<p>The brim changes how a cap looks more than people expect. Dad hats and most golf caps have a curved or pre-curved brim that shades the eyes and frames the face softly. Truckers and rope caps come with a gentler curve that you can bend further by hand: hold the brim on both sides and roll it gently over a mug or a can for a minute. Avoid folding a brim sharply, because the insert can crease permanently.</p>\n<h2>12. Ponytails, buns and long hair</h2>\n<p>Adjustable caps with a strap or snapback leave an opening at the back, which works well for a low or mid ponytail pulled through. The fitted golf cap has a closed back, so a ponytail sits below it instead. For high buns, a loose setting on a dad hat or an unstructured golf cap is usually the most comfortable. Beanies sit over or around a low bun; slouchy beanies have the most room.</p>\n<h2>13. Caps and face shapes</h2>\n<p>There are no rules, only a few tendencies. Taller crowns, like classic truckers, add height and suit rounder faces. Low-profile and unstructured caps sit closer and suit longer or narrower faces. If you wear glasses or sunglasses, a pre-curved brim keeps the frames from catching on the brim edge. When in doubt, choose the style you would actually reach for on a Saturday morning: the best-fitting cap is the one you wear.</p>\n<h2>14. Measuring for a group order</h2>\n<p>For crew or team orders, you rarely need everyone&#8217;s measurement: adjustable truckers, six-panel caps and dad hats cover most adults, and beanies stretch. Measuring only matters for the fitted golf cap and for kids, who may need Youth sizes. A simple way to collect sizes is to send everyone a short message asking for their style, colour and, for fitted caps, their head measurement. Put the final list in Order notes, one numbered line per cap, with the size next to each name.</p>\n<p>Ordering for children on a sports team? Measure two or three of the kids first; that tells you quickly whether Youth or Adult is the better fit for the group.</p>\n<h2>15. Care keeps the fit</h2>\n<p>Heat and tumbling can shrink knit and warp brims. Spot clean structured caps, hand wash soft caps in cool water, dry beanies flat, and never put a cap in a dryer. A cap dried on a round object, such as a bowl, keeps its crown shape and fit.</p>\n<h2>16. More help</h2>\n<p>Questions about a specific cap?
